Randomness...

random pic for random post twin b/w houses in Budapest.

Not as melancholy as last time I was posting but alltogether more sleepy.Had all intentions of going out and socializing if it wasn't for my gfiend who stood me up.She is the friend DF calls 'hard work' and my she is! But also a sweet person so all is forgiven. So I'm sitting here with sleepy friday nite panda eyes ( that bobby brown eyeliner is SO not long lasting) and random thoughts cross my mind.

Nr.1 I've noticed that I have this weird habit of falling into a fruit rut,so I buy a fruit and then for weeks have it every day . At the moment its pomelos , but in the past there has been an avocado , cherry and pomegrante time. Especially pomegranates are very soothing. Used to get them when I was a brokers assistant. By the time I managed to get all the seeds out, give my kitchen a red Edward Hopper style haul over and actually devour it , I forgot all about my shitty day. So I guess fruit rut is the perfect de-stresser.

Another thought; where on earth has Indian Summer gone . Its been grey and rainy all week in Paris. Oh no I remember Indian Summer is in Budapest where its 10C hotter and beautiful. Yeah i miss it.

As far as weddings go I think my moms panic attack subsided and she had a looong meeting with our planner who hopefully is going to sort out our issues with the venue. I mean seriously who waffls on about only taking exclusive events for the palais and then books a choir festival for the same day as us. So the choirs have to go.But I guess I'll let that be fought out between the planner and the venue coordinator. Two Hungarian woman fighting it out , wish I could see it.

But I got more good news. At this moment nothing is sure yet, and I don't want to jinx it by airing it just yet.all i can sy its wedding related.

Nothing else to report still hooked on nie nie blog , going through the archives wishing i was a stay-at-home mom with four kids and then waking up to my life which is pretty damn great as is. oh and hooked on the american elections .Always hve been , its soap opera but with real stakes and highly entertaining.

Ok thats it for today no more noteworthy random thoughts , except im looking forward to tomorrow nite when one of my best friends SZ. is coming for a visit. She is in town to model for the lingerie /bathing fashion fair . Yup the girl is a knockout , my bridesmaid and we going to have lotsa fun tomorrow !

Things are complicated , the budget is running away with us , the venue has booked a choir festival for the same day, my stepdad says we shoud buy an apartment rather than have our wedding and my mom is becoming panicky . So we just about considering eloping. Have the perfect place too little church on the cliffs of Etretat.Either way all this drama is bit overwhelming at the moment.

On another thought - was wondering this morning where all the creativity has gone.I used to sketch and paint and write poems, collages it all somehow stopped a bit with finishing school.

So here my new resolution focus less on obsessing about wedding/work/money / blogs / news - instead go back to creating.

Hmm goin back to miles davis n looking at the city from our balkony . Some kind of blue perfectly compliments the city by nite, especially if viewed from above. A bit melancholy though ...

Big News !

Just a few lines as DF is taking me out to dinner in a bit . Got big news that ring in fall with a bang. Both me and Df are starting a new job soon we both got offers that while not super super amazing are a good step in the right direction and exciting . He will start at a super cute restaurant in the 9th as 2nd in charge to the owner and I got an offer as Client relations associate for Dior Couture / Approche Sur Mesure.

Have to negotiate with my current company at the moment tso they let me kno before my contract is up but hopefully that will be solved nd I can begin work at the new place in 2 weeks . Exciting and a bit scary, just hope the people aren't bad , thats the only thing (ok apart from the money) that really matters.

We shall see also newly discovered a super cute blog called nieniedialogues (link on my blog) its really touching and so tragic as the girl writing it and her husband were just in a horrible accident. So sad .

We on the other hand are doing very well and hada sweet weekend , this time without any guests . DF was really sweet taking me to Laduree neven watching Love Sory wth me . OK so he was sounding off all the time how shitty the script was but hey I watshed Showgirls after it with hm , which made for a funny Sun. nite mix.Showgirls is just silly trash but I guess there are certain movies we won't ever agree on . He hates Time of Innocence which I adore but hey I can live with that he's still pretty damn greatin so many other ways .

(Hehe what a cheezy end. )

The good, the bad, and the fabulous ...

Have no idea why I just came up with this title but hey it sounds great , simmered down from yesterday though still feel a bit like we're in some rat race towards that eternally elusive state of having the perfect apartment job and city to live in . On the other hand at least we have each other and, well Paris ... a bit sentimental but so what! Sometimes all the minor /major issues take over and I have to stop myself for a moment to take in the fact that we have this great life in this great city. In other words I got off the RER a stop earlier today, bought a few books and walked over the Ile de la Cite. It was beautiful dusky-golden sunset light over the Ile, water and Seine banks. Made me feel at peace with the world again .
As for the subject of jobs I had another interview this morning for the client relations associate for Dior Couture thing , and another one to go with the Dior lady on Friday . Seems a bit like much ado about nothing to me. Yes I'm excited about possibly returning to the lxury/ fashion field . But no they wouldn't pay me amazingly , and the clients you get in these kinds of job are the worst kind of demanding . But hey I guess let them properly offer it to me first.

Other news is that my bridal party has grown again . Starts to become a bit ridiculously big , but what can I do I love to include all the girls I adore. So I now have not only 5 gorgeous bridesmaids but also 3 flower girls . Its DF's cousin's girls and they are adorable the smallest is 2years old the next 4 and the one after 7. I was originally just considering choosing the middle one as flower girl. She's the spunkiest most lively and adorable little girl and we bonded last time at DF's sisters wedding . But then how could I only choose her and not include her equally sweet sisters so now there are three. I think they will have flower galands on their heads and sashes from the same fabric as the bridesmaids.I'm excited about them being involved and so is their mommy, besides everybody loves flower girls and they make for amazing pictures.

A year older ... a year wiser ... or not

Back to blogging after quite a turbulent week /weekend. Let's see what happened; I turned 26 last Thursday had an interview the same morning, went to see Wim Wenders' Lisbon story in the park (despite the rain) proceeded to meet my favorite couple friends J&J for midnight dinner ( os a moelle&crepe flambee with copious amounts of wine ) got tipsy and to work next day with the worst hangover in a while. Then DF's little sisters (well they're 24 and 16 respectively) arrived for the weekend. And DF surprised me with a trip to Disneyland as part of my Birthday gift , the other part being jewellery( the man is perfect!) So we stayed all day at Disneyand got home at midnight , loved it , the swirly teacups n best sweet popcorn ever !

Sunday the most social day of all,Birthday bruch with a group of friends at the Fumoir then dinner with another group in Chinatown. So today the girls left and I'm completely beat , but on it goes with another early morning interview tmrw.Just hope i can get up for it .

I guess I'll write again this week slightly more detailed or thoughtfully , but for the moment thats it .

At the moment I'm really hoping that the weather clears up tomorrow so me and D. can go to the parc de la Vilette and watch Gilda , I love that movie and seing it on a huge screen while lying on the grass on a balmy night would be sch a perfect summer thing to do. Alas the meteo says it will hail , HAIL! in August ! Am not giving up hope though...

Met the woman from the Agency for the job. Its something to do with Dior , but didn't quite get whether its actually working for Dior or for a company that works for Dior , and if its for Dior why would they not just pay more , well I'll find out tomorrow. A bit less psiched at the prospect of possibly going back into fashion than I though i would be , my love for the industry got destroyed in my last fashion pr job . Just don't feel like dealing with mean people again. Also feel like I had my fill of all the fashion shows I need to be at while working for Fashion File . But I guess it would make my CV more coherent if I went back. And really whats the point of living in Paris if I dont use its opportunities. Uff I'm rambling.

On another note went on bluenile.com and chose the ring designs for the wedding bands. They aren't too fancy , but the super slim diamond eternity would work with my engagement ring and DF will probably go for classic 'manly' wide platinum. But first need to get my earrings sorted out , more on that later...

Back to Paris after a very busy and quite succesfull week back home in Budapest. We signed the contract for our venue and wedding planner have the issues with the priests on track and I had my first fitting for my dress. Oh and DF's dad and little sister visited Budapest and met my mom and stepdad. It went fine except for the fact that unfortunately DF's mom who is my favourite, the vivacious funny one of the family, couldnt be there. And though his dad is perfectly pleasant, he has quite an english placid temper which was hard for me, basically busting my butt showing them around town and not getting any reactions from them is a bit annoying . Oh well at least the fact that the families will be sitting on separate tables is settled!!. Just so much more relaxing and comfortable. We can sit with our friends and they can too and I don't have to watch my mouth all night and can just be myself.

So now its back to business as usual am just collecting the addresses for sending out our Save The Dates and had another call for a job interview, sthing in the luxury industry no less except that it would pay less than I earn now , which is just not happening. And so it goes....
